A Three-Day Step-By-Step Watercolor Workshop Along Florida's Scenic
"Forgotten Coastline".

Join Us November 9th, 10th & 11th, 2006 In Mexico Beach.

Your Thursday afternoon arrival is celebrated with food and drink with an informal gathering of fellow artists, where you'll meet Gail Novak, your watercolor instructor for the weekend. You'll begin each day with a continental breakfast in the gazebo behind the Driftwood Inn overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. From am to 11:00 am Gail will do step-by-step demonstrations such as:

• Wet on wet

• Dry brush

• Painting water & reflections

• Observing nature

• Staining & sanding techniques

She will personally assist participants on design basics, value, color and developing a style all their own. The location of Mexico Beach, right in the middle of Florida's panhandle, makes it a great place for an artist's journey to begin finding the tranquil scenes out of Florida's coastal past. Your afternoons will be spent traveling as a group to many locations in the area such as Apalachacola, Cape San Blas, Wakulla Springs, Money Bayou and the Dead Lakes to paint old fishing villages, shrimp boats, beautiful tidal marshes, trees covered in Spanish moss, flowers and lots of wildlife. Each day of instruction will end as it began - on the decks behind the Driftwood Inn as Gail directs an informal critique session of the days efforts. We'll end the weekend with a Saturday night farewell dinner of local seafood and talk of the good times and good friends we've made during the weekend. Thinking that it all went by too fast and dreading our trip back home.
